GTHC Predicts, Man City at Home
New season, new signings, lets hope for a resounding first up win! You just know it makes sense……………..2-1 IRONSSSSSSS

Minge chops has other ideas but hardly surprising really!

I was impressed by Manchester City in the first half of the Community Shield last week, and I like the look of their new midfielder, Rodri.

West Ham have had a busy summer signing a bunch of players and I am looking forward to seeing how they shape up, but I can't see City slipping up.

City generally go to London Stadium and spank the Hammers - their four visits have seen them win 5-0, 4-0 4-1 and 4-0. I don't think it will be quite that easy this time though.

Lawro's prediction: 1-2

West Ham .... signing a bunch of players

What would we do without his precise analysis and insight?
Great value for the licence fee squandered on the cunt

Can't see them scoring any less than 3, am just hoping we rock up and give them a good game even if we lose.

Re: GTHC Predicts, Man City at Home
Meanwhile Charlie Nicholas predicts 0-3 a lot wouldn't argue with his prediction for this game, but i'm not sure what he was expecting when he says we pitched highly for players that didn't materialise?

West Ham have lost Marko Arnautovic, their best player. They have pitched highly for players they want to sign and were threatening in the market, only for it not to materialise. I like Manuel Pellegrini and he did a great job last season, but I don't think he's done the business in the transfer window. There are a few players that can play and they will not be in trouble or anything like that. It will take West Ham some time to get into the groove, but Manchester City are ready to rip it up and make a statement once more. Kevin De Bruyne will score here.

CHARLIE PREDICTS: 0-3 (13/2 with Sky Bet)

Nicholas probably saw that we didnt get Gomez and hasnt bothered to check on anything else since, he's a moron of the highest order and other than being a punching bag on soccer Saturday im not sure what he's doing there.

Have a watch of the link below just incase you were under any illusions he isnt a bumbling buffoon

I predict a 3-5 thrashing with them hitting the woodwork 7 times too.. It's a write off game anyway so I'm hardly going to start pissing my pants over this one.

At least Fab is back otherwise I thought we'd get roundly thumped.

Still can't see much more than a easy win for them.

Just hope we give them a decent game.

Unseasonable high winds may well work in our favour....

Re: GTHC Predicts, Man City at Home
We actually played quite well and gave them a good game last season, apart from them scoring four and us not.

Re: GTHC Predicts, Man City at Home
My magical thinking ( based on 2 Magpies ( not Newcastle fans) I see out the window ) is that we will get something from the game.

However, reality is that we are simply not strong enough defensively ( as a team let alone midfield ) and will likely concede 2 or 3. I agree though would be nice to actually give them a game for once and have them worried for a large part of the game even if we ultimately lose.

El Scorchio 12:54 Fri Aug 9
Re: GTHC Predicts, Man City at Home
Actually quite a generous prediction from him. We just don't seem to match up well with them and I can't see us getting anything out of the game and we could end up bottom of the table again after one. If we can get hold of the ball, our new front players could cause them some problems, though.

On another note, he predicted Man City to win the title, which is interesting given he hasn't predicted his beloved liverpool to lose since 2016. Trying to give them the plucky underdog poor little brave club fighting against the odds status they tried to play up last season?

No idea but I genuinely believe that we'll win 1-0.

Haller to score.

Re: GTHC Predicts, Man City at Home
Agree, Scorchio, that's quite generous from him. We can be certain that there will be plenty of chances at both ends. If we're going to get anything out of this we're going to need to take our chances and hope that Fab is inspired and they don't take too many of theirs. I predict a 6-goal thriller - could be 3 - 3 but more likely 2 - 4.

Re: GTHC Predicts, Man City at Home
I'm going 0-2.

Someone has to, if Lawro doesn't.

PS I think we have significantly more than 0 chance of winning this. 1 in 5, maybe. More than a simple write-off, anyway.

Re: GTHC Predicts, Man City at Home
Best time to play them

Sane always plays well against us, injured

Not sure if Guardiola has worked out yet what is his best team with the new incomings etc

We look great going forward, we wil lscore laods of goals, but will also concede a fair few

2-2 looks a good shout
